Are There Any Christians In Massachusetts?

Is Massachusetts a modern day Sodom and Gomorra?  I am upset that the judges of Massachusetts felt the people of Massachusetts would let them get away with passing a law that would allow same sexes to marry.  Have we gotten that far away from God?

I'm not upset with the homosexuals.  They don't know any better.  I am upset with the Body of Christ in Massachusetts, which is why the homosexuals don't know any better.  This is not the only issue that concerns Christians in Massachusetts.  It seems the people have gone so morally astray that the courts don't know right from wrong.

Now before people go off on their liberalism leftist theories, I will proudly say that I am from a family of strong proud Democrats and I have voted primarily Democrat all of my life, and I proudly voted for Barack Obama.  However, I do not consider myself a "liberal."  I am a strong Christian with strong Christian values, as I believe are a lot of Democrats.  We have just been politicized by the Republicans to the far left, when in fact, we are not.  I believe the last election strongly supports that view, which is why the Republicans are stunned and discombobulated.

However, I am not here to talk politics.  I am here to discuss with the Body of Christ the serious issue of Apostacy.  Apostacy is when the people of God become so consumed with the world around them that you can no longer tell they are Christians.  There is no difference between their behavior and the behavior of a non-Christian.  Christians who have found justification for copying the world.  God speaks very strongly about Apostacy.  God said in Genesis 6:7, "And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them."

There are things that the bible tells us Not to do that we do on a regular basis.  As a matter of fact, we do it so much that we don't realize it's a sin anymore.  A good example of that is gossip.  And there are things that the bible tells us to do that we don't do and have never done.  For example, Jesus tells us that we are the salt of the earth.   He tells us we are the light of the world.  He tells us to go out into the world and preach the gospel.  However, we don't do any of it.  We don't go out and tell the homosexuals that God loves them.  We don't tell them that God laid His life down for them that they would have life and have it more abundantly.  We don't tell them that God can heal the brokenhearted, he can heal their wounds of pain and rejection.  We don't tell them that Jesus Christ was wounded for our transgressions, that He was bruised for our iniquities, and by His stripes we are healed.  We are healed spiritually, physically, and emotionally.  Despite the number of homosexuals who say they were born homosexuals, the truth of the matter is that they were not.  Homosexuality is a spiritual issue.  Whether they received the spirit at birth or as a child, homosexuality is a spiritual issue.  It is up to the Body of Christ to minister to them, counsel them, or lay hands on them and cast out the spirit.  We have not done our job and now the spirit of homosexuality has spread like a cancer.  Yet, we must not leave out the God factor.  The bible says, "Greater is He who lives in us than he who is in the world.  I John 4:4.  We have been endowed with power to tread on serpents and cast out devils.  Mark 3:13-14,  Mark 16:17 and Luke 10:19.

Look, God already destroyed the entire world once by drowning it in water.  He destroyed the city of Sodom & Gomorra with fire and brimstone.  Isn't it clear that He will not tolerate sin.  When we sin, it's a blatant disrespect for what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross.  Also, when we disobey God, such as we don't go out into the world to preach the gospel, it is a definite sin.  The world is in dire need of the Body of Christ.  We must stop being afraid, put on boldness and go forth.  We can't sit idly by and allow this type of legislation, any more than we can protest and vote and make judges reverse Roe vs Wade.  It is up to the Body of Christ to go forth person to person and preach the gospel, lay hands on the sick and pray for their healing or cast out devils.  It's time for the Body of Christ to do the work of the ministry, not Congress and Judges.  How can the sick heal the sick.  (That's another topic).

As you can see, we can't rely on government to do what only we are "anointed" to do.  When we stand before God, He will not ask us why didn't you vote for the "pro-life" candidate.  He will ask us why didn't we do what He has mandated us to do, which is to go into all of the world and preach the gospel.  Mark 16:15.

  1. While I respect your right to hold your opinions, I must say that I do not agree with your statement about people not being born homosexual. I knew 3 individuals in high school who were spiritual, ethical, and kind people who wanted nothing more than to be just like everyone else. Especially when this came to liking the opposite sex. None of these 3 wanted to be homosexual; in fact they fought it for as long and as much as they could. They did not want to be "different". I happened to be a person weho they felt comfortable discussing their feelings with because they knew I would not level a judgement against them. Many, if not all, Christians know somwone who is homosexual, but because of the judgement they wear on their sleeve, that person will never tlak to them about it and let them know just how unwelcome the realization of their homosexuality was. It was not a choice for most, they had these urges just as us straight people had ours and theirs are just as natural to them as ours are to us. It is the judgement of others that make homosexuality "wrong".

While you do not have to agree with or practice their lifestyle, I believe that as Christians we have the responsibility to suspend judgement as Christ taught us to and to show the patience and understanding due one human being to another. Christ taught us to love our neighbor as ourselves, and that our love should be as unconditional as God's love. Since your neightbor just may happen to be a homosexual... Jesus did not teach us to love only those who are just like us and who agree with us, He taught us to love all of our fellow man and to leave judgement to Him.

  2. I couldn't agree more. I truly agree that we are not to judge them. My comments were not made to homosexuals. I am well aware that there are a number of people who believe as you do. My mother was one of them. Personally, as my blog stated, I don't have a problem with homosexuals. I truly believe, as you've stated, we should love one another. I also believe that sin is sin. I believe there is no difference between adultery, fornication, homosexuality, gossiping, backbiting, lying, murder etc. It's all sin. So I am not for singling out any one group. For the bible says, we have all sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God. That's why we need to be born again, accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

As far as homosexuality being a sin, I'm not stating my opinion. I'm saying what God says in Romans chapter 1, specifically verses 24-27. The Word of God was very plain, in these verses. I've heard homosexuals say over and over again, just as you've said, that they could not help themselves. That they had no control over their feelings. I believe that is true. I believe they can't control themselves. But, it's because they possess a spirit that they cannot control or be delivered from without accepting Christ as their Lord and Savior and receiving His Holy Spirit to help them.

This goes in line with my blog on "Why Would God Allow That To Happen?" Again, this is not so much about God's failure as it is about the choices we make. Nobody says that obeying God is easy. However, when we truly accept Christ as our personal savior, our hearts and minds change, and the things, we thought we had no control over, we find we have help in controlling through our precious help, the Holy Spirit. I know several people, one of whom is a minister at my church. She was a homosexual who prided herself in turning out as many women as she could. However, when she heard about the love of Christ, and received Him as her Lord, she expelled her former lord, who had control over her body. She now has a powerful ministry, helping other homosexuals to do the same.
