I am very glad I am me. There is no one else I would rather be. I am rapidly expanding into the divine plan of my life, where I am fulfilling my destiny.
Can you say that about yourself? If not, why? Does the statement sound arrogant? If so, why?
This is one of the affirmations that I boldly say everyday. I say it everyday to build my confidence. The bible says in Hebrews 10:35 to, "cast not away our confidence for it has great recompense of reward." I had little confidence, because I thought people with confidence were arrogant. I thought the bible wanted us to be humble, and I thought humility was the opposite of arrogance. Paul told us in Romans 12:3, ". . . not to think more highly of ourselves than we ought to think, but to think soberly. . ." So which is it? Do we walk with confidence or do we walk with humility?
Well, it's both. Walking with humility just means to be teachable. The confidence we are not to cast away is the confidence in the "Christ in us", not just us. Let me see if I can explain, without getting too deep. Although we are a three part being, spirit, soul, body, only our body and soul are alive, until salvation. As humans, when we are born, our spirit remains asleep, (Due to Adam and Eve, a long story for another time.) which leaves only our soul and body with which we function. Before salvation, we are controlled by our soul and body. The body is controlled by the five senses, what we see, hear, touch, smell and taste. Our soul, housed in our brain, is our will, desire, thoughts, intents, which come from our senses. Thus, if we watch violence all of the time, we will become violent. If we listen to music which talks about sex all of the time, we will become sex driven. If we hear and see positive things all of the time, we become positive. Of, course I am simplifying things, but you get the gist.
When we become "born again," it means that the Spirt of God, the Holy Spirit, comes and awakens our spirit and dwells within us. The more we pray and study God's Word, the more the Holy Spirit or Christ, which means "the Anointed One" increases within us. The more we know Christ, the greater Christ becomes in us. Eventually we get to a place where the Christ in us controls us, rather than our body. It is a battle, because the body does not want to give up control, but we determine how we are controlled, based upon what we put before our senses. The more we read the Word of God, the more control our spirit has. The more we read about sex and violence, the more control our body has.
Thus if you are born again, and have invested in studying the Word of God, meditating in the Word of God, obeying the Word of God, you can say that Christ controls your body and soul. You see, the bible tells us that it is no longer we who live but Christ who lives in us. Colossians 1:27. Therefore, if Christ is in us, and in control of our body and soul, we can have confidence in the Christ in us, instead of confidence in ourselves. Confidence in the Christ in us is what we are to strive for, not confidence in ourselves.
So when I make my affirmation, "I am very glad I am me. There is no one else I would rather be. I am rapidly expanding into the divine plan of my life, where I am fulfilling my destiny, I am proudly referring to Christ in me, not just me.
True worshippers live a life of worship. They realize that they are disciples of Jesus Christ, who allow Christ to live in them. The true worshippers are "salt" and "light" in the earth. They care about the world we live. The reason we're in such a state is because the true worshippers are sleep, or in hiding. This blog is here to wake up the true worshippers. ARISE, SHINE, for your Light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
